1 Day Board Game Bootcamp

Dare to Build β€” a kids' board game design experience.

A one-day, screen-free board game design bootcamp for ages 10-12 & 13-15. Your kid designs it. Other kids play it. That's the whole idea.

Dare to Build

One day. Real games. No screens.

In one full day, kids team up, invent an original board game from scratch β€” cardboard, dice, cards, coins, all of it β€” and then watch their creation come to life as other teams actually play it.

No screens, no phones (they go in a bag at the door and come back at breaks), just cutting, building, negotiating rules, and a lot of trial and error.

What Your Child Will Learn

At Bindo Academy, children don't just hear about entrepreneurship, they experience it.

Throughout the day, every activity is designed to teach real-world skills through building their own board game.

πŸ’‘
Entrepreneurship

Children start by turning their ideas into sketches before building a working prototype. As they test their games with other participants, they quickly discover what works, what doesn't, and how to improve their product. By the end of the day, they have designed, refined, and shared a game they created themselves.

  • ➸Turn ideas into reality
  • ➸Solve problems creatively
  • ➸Build and improve through feedback
  • ➸Work together as a team
  • ➸Explain their board game to others
πŸ’°
Financial Literacy

Every team begins with a fixed budget of 50 Bindo Coins and must decide carefully how to spend it. Every purchase is recorded on their own balance sheet, helping them understand that resources are limited and every decision has consequences.

During the bootcamp, we introduce real economic concepts in a fun and memorable way. For example:

  • ➸Prices may suddenly double because of inflation, showing how purchasing power changes.
  • ➸Some tools can be rented instead of bought, with part of the money returned when they are given back, introducing the idea that assets lose value over time.
  • ➸If another team has already bought the materials they need, children must negotiate in a secondary market, learning about supply, demand, and trading.

Rather than memorizing definitions, children experience these concepts firsthand while solving real challenges.

πŸ—£οΈ
Communication & Collaboration

Great ideas only succeed when they can be shared. Throughout the day, children practice explaining their thinking, negotiating with other teams, making joint decisions, and explaining their finished game to parents and fellow participants.

  • ➸Communication skills
  • ➸Confidence speaking in front of others
  • ➸Negotiation and teamwork
  • ➸Active listening and constructive feedback

Learning by Building

The bootcamp finishes with a showcase where parents, friends, and other participants play the games the children have created.

By the end of the day, every child leaves not only with a game they built themselves, but with a deeper understanding of how ideas become products, how money influences decisions, and how communication and collaboration turn creativity into reality.

Our Northstar

What if every child believed they could change the world?

Not someday. Now. What if children grew up with the confidence to communicate their ideas, the courage to solve problems, and the financial skills to create opportunities for themselves and others?
Our mission is to reach children everywhere. To make that possible, part of our revenue goes into providing these workshops to underserved communities β€” expanding access to learning and opportunity for every child.
